Family resemblence

People have been asking me if Kaitlyn looks anything like Tyler did at her age. It is really hard for me to judge though, because even though everyone who looks at Tyler says that he is a tiny copy of his father with just a bit of me thrown in, I honestly can't see either of us in his face. So to me, my children also look completely different. But when I showed this pair of pictures to my dad, he said that they could pass for twins. Go figure. These two pictures were taken at about the same age, and the similar pose is actually a coincidence, which I thought was rather funny. And convenient.

I am really excited for my dad to come and meet his Granddaughter in person next week. He found out that he had to be in California for work the week after we are blessing Kaitlyn, so he was able to make a pit stop in Salt Lake for the weekend on his way out so he can be here. This will actually be the first grand-baby blessing that either of my parents have made it to, so I am really looking forward to it! If anyone reading this didn't get the email inviting them, and is in town on March 2nd, talk to me for details if you would like to come.

Starting up

Okay, let's see if I can keep this updated! I have tried to blog on myspace before, and just ditched it for no reason a while back. Hopefully I will be better this time around.

So here's the recent news from our house:

Kaitlyn

We weren't sure when to expect her, since Tyler came 5 weeks early. But thankfully we made it to full term this time and a little beyond. In fact, Grandma Jones flew in to help on the 10th (we were "due" on the 15th) and by the 21st we still had no baby. So we went ahead and induced, and at 5:21pm we greeted our little Kaitlyn Emma! She was 8 lbs and 1 oz, and 19 inches. So far she has been a wonderful little baby. She is a great nurser, and she is really good about sleeping during the night instead of having awake time. I don't know how we got such wonderful kids, but we love them both! Her daddy says that she is getting cuter every day.

New Carpet

While not nearly as life-changing, it is another significant event around here. Our basement carpet has been an eyesore since we moved in, full of stains and so forth. Not to mention that there was no padding underneath. So we finally splurged and had new carpet put in, and now we can't figure out why we waited for so long! It is amazing the difference that things like that can make in a room.

Okay, well that is all the new stuff in our lives for now. Hopefully I will put up more updates again soon!
