Pinewood Derby

After last year, where the Derby was delayed a few months and Daddy was still putting the car together right as the event was going to start, I was hoping that we would start earlier this time.  Daddy is still sure that if we put the car together too early that the kids will destroy it.  And once again, he found out how bad his supplies for the car were in the hour before the event itself.

Last year, Tyler was lucky that we had another, really good, car to loan him.  This year, he wasn't so lucky.

He liked the Angry Bird design . . .

he was excited about getting his car in the race . . .

but he had to try really hard to not be sad when his car kept losing.

The girls thought it was great fun, though.

Daddy did make Kaitlyn's car drive-able as well so that she could be in the "free time" at the end.

He still had fun though!  Maybe we'll do better next year, but that isn't even the point, anyway.
